Are 90s Kids Too Old?

We can already hear the thirty and forty-somethings seething "Old?! Being in your 20s isn't old!" Yes, we know. But how can we not feel old when we look at children these days? In case you still don't see our point, here's a comparison of what we had, and what they have.
School bags

Remember lugging these bags to school every day? As long as you had one of the bags above, you were considered part of the “in-crowd”.

How do they even fit all their things into that small bag? Don't they have textbooks? Files? If we sound envious, it's because we are – maybe we should've been born later.
Entertainment
90s kids

Kids Central, now known as Okto, held special childhood memories for 90s kids who used to rush home after school just to watch their favourite cartoons. We knew the timing of almost every programme like the back of our hands.
Present day kids

With an innate (almost irritable) love for Frozen and a preference for local YouTube personalities such as Wahbanana and Tree Potatoes, kids today turn to YouTube for fast-paced entertainment instead of watching Okto.
Phones
90s kids

The Nokia 3210 was a fond memory for all 90s kids. This was probably our all-time favourite phone simply because it was probably their very first phone (mind you, it had a monochrome display). The coolest function on the phone? Snake. I remember pestering my father to get me a Nokia phone, not to connect with people, but for the snake game.

Today, kids live with a full-colour touch screen with retina display, giving you the vibrant looking candies, even complimenting you when you score for an enhanced gaming experience. The idea of a colourless display is completely foreign to them.
The songs we listened to
90s kids
(Shape of My Heart - Backstreet Boys)
“Looking back on the things I’ve done~”
Admit it, you can continue the sentence; you know them by heart (even though it’s been years).
The 90s kids can easily sing along to songs by Westlife, Backstreet Boys and Boyzone.
Present day kids
(Radioactive - Imagine Dragons)
“Welcome to the new age, to the new age.” In this new age, Katy Perry, Ariana Grande and Imagine Dragons are the "in" songs now.
Internet lingo
90s kids

When we were chatting on MSN or Yahoo messenger back in those days, our internet lingo vocabulary was pretty limited – BRB, LOL, ROFL, AFK, CYA.
p.s: Remember when we couldn't use the internet when someone was using the phone? Oh, those dark, internet-less days.
Present day kids

Swag, bae, nsfw, bruh.. they seem to be coming up with new slangs every other day and after a while we just accept that we can't keep up with the times.
Games
90s kids
Introducing the trusty Gameboy and accompanying cartridges – most of us had been raising the stats of our Pokemon in order to defeat the Elite Four in 2D (we know the new one is available for 3DS). And the biggest dilemma that we had during our youth: which Pokemon should be our starter? Anyone remember blowing your cartridge it failed to load? Talk about hassle.

Present day kids
Cartridges be gone, even game CDs are out of fashion; now we buy our games online. The cute and bubbly Pokemon is now replaced with more explicit games such as Mortal Kombat X and Grand Theft Auto.

Feeling old yet? Yeah, we know that feeling.
